Environmental Protection Agency

EPA Your Environment. Your Choice Website Design

Project Goal
To support the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Solid Waste extensive communications and public outreach programs by raising public awareness on environmental issues with activities targeted to general consumers and minority communities, including but not limited to Hispanic and Asian communities. This project included the development of a website and campaign that promotes environmental stewardship among high school teens.

Our Services
To promote environmental stewardship among high school teens, TMN developed a website for EPA’s Your Environment. Your Choice campaign. The communication objectives of the website are:

- To elevate teens’ sense of responsibility for the environment, i.e., environmental conservation is not just their parents’ responsibility.
- To empower teens to conserve natural resources and protect the environment in which they live.

TMN conducted focus groups with teens in 9-12 grades to test website concepts and submitted a final report on the findings and recommendations. Based on findings, TMN designed and developed an interactive website for the campaign. The website will be used to provide high school students with the information they need to make environmentally sound choices about the products and natural resources they use, the waste they create, and to empower them to improve the environment in which they live.

Accomplishments
This site is currently live on EPA’s Office of Solid Waste website and has been well received by the intended audience. It can be accessed here.
